What is Floating?

Flotation Therapy, or simply 'floating' is laying in a specially designed bathtub with 11" of highly concentrated, high grade epsom salt.

The tubs or 'float tanks' are designed to precisely control the float customer's environment so it's customized to their comfort level.

The water and air are heated to around the same temperature as your extremities so you lose the sensation of where the water & air begin and your skin ends.

How much epsom salt is in a float tank?  1,100 pounds of salt in each one!

Yes, that's 1,100 pounds of epsom salt dissolved in 1,000 litres of water.

How is InSPAration different?

Here are the InSPAration Float Centre we use the most spacious & accessible custom float cabins - not top closing pods, small enclosed tanks or open air float pools which some people find chilly.   Our float cabins have proven to be the best choice for anyone who feels claustrophobic, providing the most space in any float tank on the market.

We ensure that the epsom salt used is the most ecologically sound available - not all salt suppliers are the same.  We receive lab reports to ensure we have the highest grade of magnesium sulfate with no impurities.  After all, if  we're soaking in 1,100lbs of something, we want to be sure it's clean & pure!

Each float cabin is fully accessibility compliant (AODA) with anti-slip features, and a multitude of grab handles - the best option for anyone with less mobility or a sore body - they're simply the easiest to get into and out of.

Our cabins are 100% Canadian made by a 100% Canadian company and are specially designed to maintain an even water and air temperature, providing the floater with unparalleled quality.

Epsom Salts are great for your skin, hair, nails, and act as an exfoliant. They aid in joint pain, ease stress, and naturally relax the body. 1,100 pounds of Epsom Salts help prevent inflammation in your joints and muscles and treat sprains, strains or sore muscles.

1,100 pounds of salt in 1,000L  of water creates a 30% salt solution, enabling you to float effortlessly atop the water. This creates a deeply relaxing anti-gravity environment, as all weight and tension can be dropped; it’s even safe to fall asleep. There are no pressure points on the body in this state, which can provide pain relief. The spine naturally elongates and straightens, and the body undergoes the same regeneration process that transpires during sleep

An hour of zero gravity and zero distractions will decrease the production of cortisone, a stress hormone, leaving us feeling refreshed and serene after the float. The brain enters the theta brain-wave state, associated with deep sleep and dreaming. As all external sources of distraction are removed, floating provides an extreme form of rest. The skin temperature water feels like floating on a cloud or in outer space.
